90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petite
Verdot, 4% Merlot

VINIFICATION: Aged 18 months in 100% French oak (36% new)

TASTING NOTES: Beautifully classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Bright aromas of black cherry, fresh blackberry fruit, tanned leather spice and mocha lead to a plush and juicy palate. There, flavors of blueberry and cherry fruit are rich and supple along with toasted oak spice accents. The silky tannins are well-integrated and frame a full mouthfeel with concentrated flavors and long finish.

Welcomed winter rain in January and February of 2018 eased long drought conditions. After a relatively wet winter, both bud break and flowering occurred later than average, but under ideal weather conditions, creating plentiful and even fruit set. Warm summer temperatures with generous sun exposure moderated by cool marine influences in the mornings and evenings, allowed for a long summer growing season, virtually uninterrupted by any major heat spikes. The mild summer run was followed by extended fall sunshine with moderate heat and no early rains, creating near-ideal conditions to allow fruit extended hang time for gradual ripening, increase sugar levels and flavor complexity development. The fruit for this wine was picked from October 14 to November 1, 2018. The fruit for this 2018 blend comes from multiple AVA’s throughout Napa Valley, including Oakville, St Helena, Howell Mountain, and Yountville. The cuvée is one that highlights the best of Napa Valley’s valley floor and mountain-top terroir.
